The minute the first season of Queer Eye hit Netflix it became an instant hit. People all around the world were falling in love with the reboot and the new Fab 5. It's no surprise that the hype only grew in anticipation for season 2. By the time season 3 was ready to come out the expectation was through the roof. I sat down and binge-watched season 3 in 2 days. I laughed, I cried, I even got my mom to watch it. The season definitely did not disappoint. In this blog I'll be talking about my 3 favorite episodes, so if you haven't seen it yet stop reading!
The first episode I came across that was really good was the 3rd episode "Jones Bar-B-Q", The Fab 5 made over sisters Deborah and Mary Jones who owned their business with a rich family history. This episode was full of happy-cry moments. There was a scene where they went to the dentist and got their teeth fixed thanks to the Fab 5. You could really see how happy the sisters were and how thankful and appreciative they were. Bobby made over their restaurant and made it look as good as new. It had beautiful outdoor seating and looked like it was right out of a home magazine. The highlight of the episode for me, however, was when they finally got their Bar-B-Q sauce bottled and were able to sell it. They were so happy to have that and were showing it off the whole night. It was a great episode to watch. You can even buy the Bar-B-Q sauce online, I'll leave the link below.
The next episode that was a real tear-jerker was "Black Girl Magic". This time the makeover was focused on a young black lesbian woman, Jess. Just hearing her story really made you root for her. She had been in foster care growing up and had finally been adopted by a very religious family. When she was outed, they immediately kicked her out at 16 years old and she's been on her own since. Bobby came from a similar background and the two of them immediately connected. It was incredible to watch her transformation and her confidence grow. By the end, the Fab 5 had helped her reconnect with her sister and be comfortable in her own skin surrounded by her chosen family. It was an episode filled with emotions and one of the best by far.
The final episode that really hit your emotions was directly after "Black Girl Magic" and entitled "Elrod & Sons". Rob Elrod was a grieving husband taking care of his two young sons. He tragically lost his wife to cancer and was trying to move on while still honoring her memory. This was a rare episode because Rob was in the middle of moving so Bobby had a completely empty home to work with. He did an incredible job desigining a beautiful home that really helped preserve the memory. Throughout the episode you found out that before her passing, Allison (Rob's wife), wrote out a birthday card for her sons up until they were each 18. In every card she wrote, "P.S be nice to your brother". When Bobby was crafting the house he had a custom chest made to hold all of Allison's memories. He had "P.S. be nice to your brother" engraved in the chest in Allison's handwriting. It was a touching moment to watch and was the biggest highlight of the episode. On top of all that, Rob's makeover seemed to be really healing. Overall it was a great episode to watch.
I can't wait for Season 4.

That show is so 2000’s, just like the metrosexual.
