Harry Styles Surprises Fans with New Single "Lights Up".

It's been two and a half long years for Harry Styles fans. Yesterday Harry finally returned surprise dropping his new song. Fans were getting suspicious of new music coming when the star took to social media and simply tweeted out "Do" on the 5th. This was unusual because he never posts on social media. The one word sent fans into a frenzy, quickly the phrase "Do What?" started trending number one on twitter. After that it was radio silence until two days ago. All around the world posters started popping up dawning the phrase "Do You Know Who You Are?" with the singers signature phrase "treat people with kindness" written below and the logo for Columbia records. Fans were freaking out at the prospect of receiving new music. The very next day on World Mental Health Day Harry launched a website https://doyouknowwhoyouare.com where you could type in your name and get validation.

Fans started trending #DoYouKnowWhoYouAre #1 on twitter immediately which was quickly followed with #hs2atmidnight, HS2 standing for "Harry Styles 2" in reference to a new album. However there was no concrete proof he was releasing anything and this wouldn't be the first time fans thought music was coming and nothing did. As it got closer to midnight EST, fans were losing hope and starting to poke fun at the situation. They were silenced when Harry posted an image of himself to twitter at 11:05.

Fans knew now that something was most definitely coming. Radio hosts started tweeting out taunting posts and then at 11:30 the next post from Harry came at the same time a notification from youtube "Harry Styles VEVO has started a premiere".

The image dawned the title of his brand new single and the music video was set to premiere at 12:01 AM EST. The music video was absolutely beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing. There were several indications that he was looking at his past self in the video and finally coming into his own. It was very different from his previous two videos "Sign of the Times" and "Kiwi". He really stepped up his game. The song itself is a big departure from his previous self-titled album. The sound is something very different that isn't really heard on the radio. They lyrics are incredible and it helps that the chorus is catchy. It will instantly get stuck in your head. His voice sounds better than it ever has and you can tell how much time and care went in to making the song. In my opinion, this is his best song yet and I can't wait to hear what comes from this next album.
