With the beginning of June a few days ago I thought I'd share what's on my playlist this month!

1. "Idk" by Bruce Wiegner

ree

This song came out not too long ago and I loved it from the second I heard it. With him being a music producer it would be a shame not to mention how well and smoothly produced it is. The lyrics written completely by Bruce are very deep and match the range of his voice perfectly. It's just a really great song.

2. "F**k Feelings" by Olivia O'Brien

ree

While this song may have came out in 2017, I just discovered it a few days ago. It's a fun song to yell out in the car with your friends (which I often do) and it has a great hook. Olivia O'Brien also has such a unique voice, this song wouldn't sound good at all without her voice on it considering the lyrics are pretty basic and just fun. It's really her voice that makes the song what it is and the energy that she brings to it.

3. "Never Really Over" by Katy Perry

ree

I wanted so badly to like this song because her last album Witness really disappointed me. I was a big fan of Katy Perry's old music but the last thing of hers I actually liked was "Chained to the Rhythm". I was so happy when I heard it, it sounded like her older music and was really fun. Her vocals were highlighted in the perfect places throughout and the production value was so high. The chorus has a fantastic beat and makes you just want to dance. It's a really fun song and definitely a summer jam.

4. "Broken Girls" by Gabbie Hanna

This song is one of my absolute favorites right now, I can't stop listening to it. I have already written a review on this song and the album it comes from as a whole so I won't say that much about it, but you can find that review here: https://laurelwalls1.wixsite.com/popculturepov/home/gabbie-hanna-s-2waymirror-is-brilliant

5. "Mother's Daughter" by Miley Cyrus

ree

This song is a feminist anthem, but I wouldn't really expect anything less from Miley. The beat is so free flowing and every lyric is perfectly written and drives her message across. It reminds me of "Never Really Over" a lot in sense of production, which I really like. I can already hear this song being blasted at a women's march and I'm here for it.
