Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman Charged in Cheating Scandal

The two actresses among other people were just charged with doctoring test scores to get their children into top schools including Yale, UCLA, USC, and more. Others charged include coaches, test proctors, administrators, and parents.

Parents would pay a tidy sum of money to have their childrens SAT/ACT answers changed to make their score higher. It is claimed that the students had no idea this was going on, but it's hard to tell if that's really true. This scandal went hand in hand with an athletic coach who could fake profiles of prospective students regardless of their participation in athletics. Most of the students involved were athletes or were photoshopped into pictures of athletes so they could benefit from this.

This scam is believed to have been going on since 2011, and racked up over $25 million in bribes. The authorities have been investigating this since last year and have finally come to this conclusion. It is said that the Universities are not involved and had no knowledge of this except for an administrator at USC.

Felicity Huffman paid $15,000 to have her daughter's test scores doctored. Felicity's husband William H. Macy, star of Shameless, was not charged and it's unclear whether he had knowledge of what was going on. Apparently, Huffman considered participating in the scheme again for her youngest daughter but never went through with it. Lori Loughlin, allegedly paid $500,000 to guarantee admissions to USC for her daughter. Her daughter Olivia Jade is a popular youtuber who has collaborated with some of the big names on youtube like David Dobrik and Trisha Paytas. Her audience swings younger and will probably suffer a massive toll after this. It looks like Lori really wasted her money though because Olivia has publicly said on multiple occasions, "I only wanted to go to college to party and go to football games".

Nothing has been stated about where the kids' who were involved in this stand with their admissions. If it were up to me, I would have them kicked out of school because they don't deserve to be there anyway. Their cheating took away the chance for someone who actually worked hard to go to that school, especially in highly competitive schools like Yale and UCLA. I believe that some students didn't know about what was going on, but I don't believe that Olivia Jade had no idea, especially after having been a long time viewer of her youtube channel. I know that when she was announced going to USC many people, including me, were very confused on how she got in. I think she must've known something was up when she was admitted just like the rest of the world did. I also hope that Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman don't just get a slap on the wrist because of their social status, but actually have to deal with the consequences of their actions.
