It's Time For the Media to Leave Taylor Swift Alone.

In a recent interview with Elle Magazine, Taylor Swift shared a list of 30 things she learned before turning 30. This ranged from small things like learning about the brilliance of command hooks to things like not letting people's opinion affect her. She shared her biggest fear of having an act of terror happen during one of her shows. Taylor talked about how she carries army grade bandages in her purse at all times in case she were to be stabbed or shot. She opened up about being a victim of sexual assault and dealing with both her parents having cancer. In a few sentences, she talked about hitting her rock bottom in 2016 when everyone on the internet was calling her a snake.
Out of all the things I mentioned, I bet you can guess which one media outlets have taken and distorted. There has been headline after headline addressing Taylor's comments about being bullied and being called a snake by Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The two were not mentioned by name but it was obviously about them. The media has taken three sentences and turned it into something it's not. They claim that Taylor is reigniting her feud with Kim and claiming she's still playing the victim.
Instead of addressing the other much more important topics Taylor talked about in her article they had to try and provoke old drama. It would've been so easy for any of these other "news" outlets to talk about the very real fear she has of being a victim of an attack to the point where she carries bandages in her purse, or how she feels about sexual assault, or even how she educated herself and found her political voice. There are 29 other topics they could've written an article about but all these media sources want to continue the "I hate Taylor Swift for no reason" trend.
The things you never see the media report about Taylor Swift is how she invites fans to her house, surprises them at their weddings and other events, donates large sums of money to charities, etc. They find ways to make everyone hate her for no reason at all except that she's successful. Even a few years ago when Taylor donated money to Ke$ha while she was going through her assault trial the media twisted it saying "she only wanted attention". It's time that the media stopped nit-picking everything she does and lets the world see who she actually is. It's getting old, them using the same tired headlines for clickbait.
